here's the scoop

i don't know if someone's posted this already. so i'll go with it again.

i've already used my 'golden shot', i.e., i've lost 40lbs and have 30 to go, and i've kept it off for about eight months now. i'm supposing it's time to move through owl.

what i'm finding is that i stall at 20g, but when i do cut out some of the fat(like peanut butter and hot dogs, not the good fats) and i up my carbs to 40g, i find i'm losing more! and of course my carbs come from good sources; some veggies and sugar free whole wheat bread.

does anyone have any idea why?? i've read most of atkins books, but can't seem to find an explanation. but hey, if it works, it works, right?

Well, I'm no expert, but I would say you have answered your own question!

You said: what i'm finding is that i stall at 20g, but when i do cut out some of the fat(like peanut butter and hot dogs, not the good fats) and i up my carbs to 40g, i find i'm losing more! and of course my carbs come from good sources; some veggies and sugar free whole wheat bread.

I'm sure both peanut butter and hot dogs contain other ingredients that could stall you--salt, sugar, other additives--and when you go to fresh, healthy veggies, you lose :)

Just my thoughts on it!

I think LoveSong said it very well. I might add to that in saying that if you read the ingedients look for the things you know you should stay away from (like sugar, flour, starch, etc) and I also figure if you can't pernounce it, then don't eat it. The more natural the product is the more control you have over your diet.
