log cabin sf syrup..yummmmm, but...

the sugar alcohols stall me and almost kick me out of ketosis! I am so dissapointed! I found a great recipe for "almond pancakes" in the recipe forum which are quite tasty, and the log cabin syrup really does taste good. I was sooo looking forward to having pancakes for breakfast regularly, but alas, now it can only be an occasional treat.....boo-hoo

Sorry to hear that it stalls you!! I have the atkins maple syrup in my frig, and boy is that stuff AWFUL!!!!!!
I would love to try the log cabin, but I am one of these people who have to finish something (atkins maple) before going onto something else............I guess I will NEVER try LOG CABIN< ha!

I too have tried the Atkins syrup and it tastes like sugary water! I eat the atkins pancakes (the mix) and sprinkle some splenda on them. It doesn't cause me to stall and is satisfying.. I try not to eat them too much, but they are good as a change from the usual eggs. Good luck, and let me know if you find anything better syrup wise..

You might consider the DaVinci maple syrup. It's sweetened with Splenda, and shouldn't cause a stall. It's great on a mock danish with cinnamon and butter. Has a nice french toast flavor. Quite yummy!

Sorbee (usually in the diabetic foods section) also has a sf syrup that has much fewer sugar alcohol grams than the log cabin stuff, so maybe I will try that.
I, too, tried the Atkins sugar-water-poor-excuse-for-syrup. I added some thicken/thin Not Starch to thicken it up and ended up with super-thick-poor-excuse-for-syrup-that-now-tastes-like-tree-bark-crap. yuk.

Try Walden Farms Calorie Free Pancake Suryp or look for Josephs brand of maple suryp. Both are much better than the Atkins brand.

I second the Da Vinci Syrups. They are great and come in a variety of flavors with 0 carbs and made with liquid splenda. I get root beer flavored and make slushies... yum!

When I was a kid, I would occasionally use preserves on my pancakes instead of syrup. (I haven't thought of that in forever.) And there are some good LC preserves available. I also liked pancakes with just butter.

Try it; you might find a new taste treat.

I want a thicker syrup myself...the Atkins syrup is just liquid splenda dyed brown I think :(
