I was just thinking today...

Of how lucky and blessed I am to have found Atkins, AND read the Doctor's New Diet Revolution book. I have not only lost weight, but as someone put it on here, re-learned how to eat. To me, it's not about the sugar substitues, bars, shakes, lc candy, or meat meat meat, but fish, poulty, seafood, pork, VEGETABLES, whole grains and NO emotional eating. I have a choice, I always have, but thanks to the book I have learned HOW to make those choices. The media out there frustrates me, but I know I cannot control what they say, only shake my head at them not being informed. Anytime anyone asks me how I did it, I tell them straight out, and if they say certain things they have heard how Atkins isn't healthy, or, all I eat is meat, you can bet I set them straight with facts! I think reading the book is the best way to go about Atkins. Not only does he arm you with the right tools, but those tools stick with you for the rest of your life. I am never ashamed of what I'm doing, and encourage others to spend the $7 and READ READ READ! I cannot encourage that enough. This is about changing your life for the better, and don't people owe it to themselves to educate their minds if they want this life to stick?

I wish for everyone to be happy, healthier and lighter!

Ok, off my soapbox now.

Melissa,
My favorite part of the diet is that it breaks my ravenous cravings for junk food. Its like Alcoholics Anonymous for food addicts. No other diet no matter how wholesome and sensible, could break that strong desire. I'm happy that you are doing so well!

All of the above!

As you, I feel extremely lucky and blessed with this woe.

I agree with Tricia. It is like AA for food addicts. I am amazed that I can walk right by a food I couldn't in the past and not feel tempted and not reach out and shove it in my mouth.

Not only is my weight going down, but I have more energy and my mood is much much better. I absolutely love this WOE. I still have kind of an upset stomach I'm still trying to figure out, but I'm sure I will in time.

Thanks for your post!

Squid
