Average weight lost after induction?
HI! First of all I just love this site! I've really gathered a lot
of information on here from all you folks and hopefully have put it to good use. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your inspiration you've give me with the stories you've told about your accomplishments with low-carbing and the advice you've give to me and others. This "diet" is the only one I have been able to stick with. It has only been 2 wks today but I have more energy then ever (hard to sleep at night!) I've lost 7 lbs in this period and I guess my question is what is the average weight a person loses after induction? I want to make sure I am doing all the right things. I have been keeping a journal at home as to what I've eaten. Some of the days I was below the 20 carbs and others I was just over it by maybe two. Thanks for any feedback. :) |
Hi Chris!
"Average" weight loss on induction is about 10% of what you need to lose so it seems that you are already ahead of the game there. After induction, weight loss seems to be in the range of about 5% of what you need to lose each month after that. Many people also report a brief stall or slow down in weight loss for a few weeks after induction, so if this happens to you stick with it and don't change anything for a few weeks. Keep in mind that "average" is just that...some will lose more and some will lose less. :) |
I'm three days off induction and only lost 5 pounds. But I do feel better and my clothes are more comfortable.

I lost about 12 lbs. during the 2 weeks of Induction. Since then, I loose an average of 7 - 10 lbs. a month.

Thanks for letting me know what is "average"! I guess I'm right were I should be. Now I've lost 8.5 lbs in two weeks 1 day! :yay: I think I'll be able to accomplish this yet. I talked with a friend today and she has a Dr. friend. He told her that Atkins is the worst diet to be on. He says it shuts down all your organs. I couldn't believe that. Well all Drs have there own opinions on that. I just know it is working for me and I feel great on it. I just watch what I eat mostly and the amount I eat as well. I'm sure that is a biggy too. Good luck to all of you! :)

:D :D :D What was he a doctor in? Litterature? Such stupid nonsence coming from someone who should know better and read up properly on matters instead of drawing conclusions from vulgar media hearsay... (although that "shuts down all your organs" was a new one...) Ack. Ick. *snort* |
