Low Carb Bread A&P (Ontario)
Decided over Christmas that I was going to have a leftover turkey sandwich and went shopping for low carb bread (I live in small town ON so it's difficult). Was in my local Sav-a-Centre (aka A&P) and found a bread that was pretty low carb and not completely horrible <g>. They also put pea hull fibre in it.
It's called Betty Light 80% whole Wheat bread and is baked under the Betty name by Lanthier Bakery LTD, (I think in Alexandria Ontaio) (613) 525 2435. Nutrition Breakdown as follows: 2 slices (they are small) Energy 77 cal Protein 5.3g Fat 0.2g Carb 13g Dietary Fibre 5.2 That makes the net carbs 7.8 for 2 slices or 3.9g of carb per slice. Cost was around $2-3. |
Thanks for that info - I hadn't been able to find a lo-carb bread but wasn't sure what to look for - good to have a brand name. Hopefully my A&P will carry it.
