coffee
hi,
im new to the low carb scene, but i feel i can make a real success of it,i just need to know how many carbs are in a cup of instant coffe with no sweetner except creamer, thanks alot, ramses |
Fitday.com says that 1 tsp of instant coffee has .37g of carbs. As far as the creamer goes, it depends on whether it is the powdered stuff or liquid. Likely between 1.5g - 3g per oz.
The best thing to do would be to sign up for a free account at Fitday.com. It has a database of information that will help you. I wish you every success! |
Hi ramses+me
Smoosh answered your question about how many carbs in coffee. When I started this woe, (way of eating) I never worried to much about the carb count in coffee. In my opinion there is such a small amount of carbs in coffee I didn't even bother counting them, I think the only problem coffee may have with some people is it stimulates the appetite (I think by raising your blood sugar) which may be difficult for some people. I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning because I truly enjoy "that moment", I just make sure I have my low carb breakfast near by to enjoy after my coffee. However there are more carbs in instant coffee than brewed coffee, and more carbs in creamer than there are in actual cream.

Instant coffee is less than 1 per spoonful but why are you putting creamer in it! It is full of glucose syrup! The lowest option is unsweetened soya milk (almost 0 - but takes some getting used to) and second lowest heavy cream.

thanks for all advice.no more creamer for me!
but i will stay with my coffee as i love my coffee too much to give it up yet!!!!! |
I am also on induction and a coffee adict! I count each 6 oz cup as 1 carb - (I have 1/2 decaf mixed with 1/2 REAL stuff) I need my coffee and would rather count it in my total carbs than go without! I haven't found it to increase my appetite at all! I may lose more slowly doing this but in time will cut back!
