my planned menu

hey everybody i am planning on doing the induction diet next week and just wanted your opinions on my menu. I have done low carb before but never the atkins induction. I read the book but would still like some input. My menu is going to include the following foods:

egg beaters with cheese (small amount of salsa)
chicken breast
steak
pork chops
fish and shrimp
broccolli
salad
dressing with only 3 grams of carbs
tuna fish with mayo
shakes and bars

For example
8am: egg beaters with cheese and salsa
lunch: chicken breast with broccolli or tuna fish with mayo on lettuce
snack: atkins shake
dinner: steak and salad (or other veges)
snack: protein bar (with no sugar and 2 grams carbs)

Whatcha think? I don't have much weight to lose like 5 lbs. just wanna lean out so I am doing this for two weeks then going back to regular low carb eating(for me no pasta, bread, flour etc.) Thanks for your help

Dump the egg beaters, shakes and bars and add a few more fats. Go for 2 carb or less/serving salad dressings and real eggs. Otherwise everything looks great!

I agree you need more fats. Atkins is a high fat diet with 70% of your calories coming from fat in induction.

Get rid of the shakes and bars. They are natorious stallers. Instead concentrate on whole fresh foods. Add olive oil to your salads ect. For snacks have celery with cream cheese, deviled eggs, bacon wrapped scallops, or check out the quick meals and snacks section on the recipe forum for even more ideas.

Ken's Creamy Ceasar Dressing has less than 1gram carb and is yummy! It is also great on broccoli slaw.

Hidden Valley Ranch = only 2 carbs ...make sure you don't include tomatoes on your salad.
Go for real eggs. I keep boiled eggs in the fridge for salad...crumbled bacon and cucumbers and shredded cheese too.
Take vitamins.
If you add 20 minutes of any exercise per day, the pounds will melt off. :yay:
