Out of the mouths of babes

I just had to share this.

The other night we went out to dinner at a diner. When we got back in the car, my daughter who is 3 1/2 was holding one of those little packages of Saltine crackers. She started waving it around and saying "Mommy, Mommy! How many carbs does this have?". Me and my husband were cracking up!

I guess kids do listen!

That is so cute....my son who is 5..is always telling me....I cannot have things....because of sugar...I was eating his peperoni off his pizza one night...and he had a shocked look in his eye...I said what...he says MOM that has sugar in it and you cannot eat it...

I laughed too...so sweet.and Yes they do listen...too well sometimes and not enough other..hehe

kids can be great reinforcers! that just goes to show that they really do listen, even when we think they don't.

A pack of crackers has 4g of Carbs...But, the really bad part is that a dozen crackers can have as much Trans-Fat as a serving of McDonald's Fries.

My son really didn't like it when I was on CAD... he'd grown accustomed to getting my roll, crackers, potato... any of the extras. I went to take a bite of my potato at RM one night and he just went "ahem!" and looked at me sternly...I nearly died laughing...then tried to explain in simple terms why I could eat it now..

He just heaved a sigh and went back to his own food.

My teenage sons were having a little whipped cream fight on Thanksgiving and accidently sprayed me. I screamed and the older one started screaming "Noooo, CARBS, she's melting, melting"
I was laughing so hard finally told them I could have whipped cream

My children seem to be my biggest reminders of what I can and cannot eat. Which is okay, cuz sometimes I need reminding.

My daughter had heard me saying last week that no more advantage bars for me since I thought it may have been causing a slow down, so when she found one left in the cabinet she says,"Well you said no more for you so can I have it?" So I let her have it,lol.

It's fun to go grocery shopping with my daughter now...she no longer throws * just anything in the cart...she walks around with the packages counting the carbs on everything..haha....
