Not hungry... good or bad?

I am on day 8 of induction and day 14 of eating lc. And I am just not all that hungry. It is almost 2pm and all I have eaten today is cheese. I had 2.5 slices of american cheese this morning (in a rush out the door) and I had a mini-babybel cheese about an hour ago. That is nothing, and cannot be healthy.

Now, I could eat just for the sake of eating, but is that any healthier? I truly want your opinions. I am sure I will get hungry here before too long, but I am a little worried I am doing something wrong!

It's probably just a typical phase of Induction that passes relatively quickly. Normally, you should try to eat on a regular schedule. It will help you avoid overeating when your appettite catches up with you.

Decreased appetite is a common side-effect of ketosis. You do need to make yourself eat something healthy, like veggies and meat.

Try to keep some LC snacks close at hand - I found that I wasn't hungry for long periods of time but when I got that way it was intense hunger!

Thanks for your responses! I ate some veggies and did eventually get hungry. But after eating only a small amount I was quickly full again. According to Fitday I have had less than 1000 calories today. I am sure I will have a snack before bed, but don't know if it will get me to where I should be.

Where can I find a good resource about what amount of calories I should be eating? I was just reading another post about eating a high enough amount of calories to keep your metabolism going. How do I figure that out? Thanks!

I went thru the same thing. I was terrified that I would end up causing my bod to go into starvation mode and start storing everything!! I was told a simple trick...up the fat and you up the calories. Simple, huh. Fat is our fuel now as well as our friend :p
