induction food list confusion

The allowed foods list really confuses me. It says to only eat whats on the list, but then on the sample induction menu there are foods listed that are not on the list

When in doubt, ONLY eat the foods on the allowed induction foods list while on induction.

Now, with that out of the way, if you just use common sense (ie read the labels and ingredients) with some of the other foods that are in the sample menus, you'll be fine.

One notable exception, if the sample menus include Bars or shakes or low carb" manufactured foods" (atkins line of foods, low carb bread, ice cream etc), alot of these things (esp ones with Sugar alchohols in them) cause people to lose weight slower, or stall completely (along with the diuritic affect some people have with the sugar alchohols).

Using common sense and reading labels will get you through not only induction, and not only as far as adding foods that are in the menus but not on the allowed foods list, you really should be reading all of the labels all of the time anyway, even on the allowed foods, as you never know what one brand might have added to something to make it more tasty or sellable.

Hi Bluebird. I think some of what's listed on the sample menu might fall under another category on the induction foods list: for example, pork rinds aren't on the induction foods list per se, but since they're just fried pork skin, it qualifies. What food was it in particular you were wondering about?
