Help with stinky boiled eggs?

Between my wife and I, we eat almost a dozen hard boiled eggs
a week. I usually boil up 12-18 at a time, then I stick 'em
back in the frig in the egg carton.

When I open the frig door.... YOWZA!! It reeks of sulfur!!!

Are there any tricks to keeping hard boiled eggs without
that funky side effect?

Perhaps I'll just hook up a whoopee cushion to the frig door
somehow. That should make for a lively Thanksgiving.

It sounds like you may be cooking them for too long.

Let the eggs come to room temperature and cover them with cold water. Let the water come to a light simmer - not a rolling boil - and cook for 8-10 minutes, depening on the size of the egg. Immediately drain the water from the pot then let cold water run over the eggs in the pot till completely cold. Peel them just before you eat them.

You may have to put the whoopee cushion somewhere else for entertainment. :)

I usually put my eggs in a bowl and put a lid over them. That way the whole refrigerator doesn't smell like them. :)
