Hi.. I was just wondering if anyone has had trouble losing weight on the LC plan while being on the pill.. I have heard it is harder to lose weight because of estrogen and insulin and all that...Thanks!!!!

Yes, though it was years ago. :( I gained about 20 lbs worth of "pill weight." Nothing would take it off. I even got a gym membership and I was working out a lot. The scale wouldn't budge. So I gave up. A few months after giving up, I stopped taking the pill. The weight was gone, all by itself, no effort on my part, within about eight weeks. Go figger.

No problems at all! Been on the pill 12 years, losing weight steadily for the last 10 months!

I didn't have any trouble losing weight but I quit taking the pill because in the middle of the pink ones my TOM started and since the only reason I was taking them was to regulate my TOM, I stopped because they weren't working. And I'm still losing weight. :)

mary, my cycle did the same thing, but after a few months when my body had adjusted to the WOE my cycle came back just as regular as ever
Something about the fat cells storing estrogen and when you lose the weight the hormone is released.
If you go back on the pill your cycle will regulate after 3 months or so

My doc told me I was living proof that youcould lose weight on Depo. She was surprised because so many people had complained to her that they couldnt lose because of the depo.

I chocked on weight when I went on the pill. I was on it for about 7 years. I went off it recently and cant believe how different I feel - can you say sex drive??!!? I will never go back on the pill.

I gained weight on Depo with no change in my habits. not to mention the other side effects -moody, No sex drive, constant bleeding. I will never mess with my hormones like that again. I now have an IUD and no problems or worries for almost 4 years.

no problems but i am on mircette, a very low dose pill. i can't take ortho or any of the others without very bad pms-like side effects. but it does make me wonder, if i wasn't on the pill would i have experienced greater weight loss?
