Prickly heat and low carbing and doctors.

I posted the other day about suffering a prickly heat rash under my arms and wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing -- trying to figure out if it was LC related or not. I got a few replies from people recommending what I should or shouldn't do, but didn't hear from anyone else suffering a rash.

I went to the dermatologist today and he said it was a yeast rash, and gave me meds to combat it. When I asked if it could be due to ketone excretion from low carbing he said, "Then I would have it." He not only is doing low-carb, he recommends it to overweight patients and has colleagues who keep copies of DANDR in their office to give to patients! We briefly discussed the benefits of low carb eating, he wrote my prescription, and I came in to work. (My rash, however is from moisture - I suffer hot flashes and sweats and that is what is causing the rash.)

It is a pleasure finding doctors who don't berate patients for eating right! I was almost afraid to mention low-carbing and ketones, but was pleasantly surprised at his reaction.

OK, back to work now.

That's great about your doctor! I am pleasantly surprised to see more and more medical professionals opening their minds to see the benefits of low-carbing.
