Fitday Percentage Question

This might be a silly question... I am not a newbie to this forum, however I am trying to incorporate FITDAY into my weightloss regimen, and that is new. I have a question regarding the percentages in the activity area.
Basal:
Lifestyle:
Activity:

Is there an ideal ratio that these percentages should reflect? I am confused about what they actually represent. Obviosly, activity is what activity you enter in that you have done that day, and lifestyle refers to the info you typed in as part of your inituial questionaire, but what does the basal mean?

Thank you for your help!

Carrie Ann, basal refers to those functions your body must engage in to keep you alive and healthy. Regulating body temperature, making and repairing cells, creating enzymes and hormones - everything that would happen on a daily basis if you were bed ridden. Basal comprises roughly 60-70% of your total calories - quite a bit. It's not recommended that you restrict calories below this level, BTW, for fear of slowing fat burning and putting your health at risk.

Okay, thank you for the reply... so basically, my percentages for yesterday were

Basal: 1782 49%
Lifestyle: 1010 28%
Activities: 811 23%

So this is not a good thing? I am still a little confused... if you add up the calories, it is like 3602 and I know I did not consume that many calories yesterday? Hmmm..does that number interacte with the number of calories I type in that I have eaten or is that number manufactured independent of the food consumed. Thanks for your reply.

The numbers that fitday gives you are only your basal, lifestyle, and activities ... that is what you burned. It does not include the food eaten.
