Question about Aspirin and Other Over Counter Meds
 

I am new to this Forum... Thank God you are all here!!!

I have a question about Over the Counter Meds. I have searched through the book but couldn't really find anything on it.

I know Aspirin and some other pain killers and antacids have caffeine and other perservatives in them. (spelling??)

I was a huge sugar and caffeine addict before starting Atkins, so I am trying to avoid them completely. Does anyone have any solutions or know if it's ok to take them?

Pure aspirin is caffeine free. Some other painkillers (like Motrin and I believe Excedrin) have caffeine in them, though. You can always just read the label to see about additives.

Some people can take aspirin and some can't (it can be rough on the stomach lining). Personally I prefer aspirin to other kinds of OTC painkillers, but it's an individual thing. And BTW, aspirin should never be given to children.
