Hello from Germany
Hello everyone. I was a faithful low carb follower until I moved over here last year. My husband is military and I'm a Special Ed Teacher. We arrived into this beautiful country and I just had to let myself go off to enjoy the food in Germany and the surrounding countries. Now I'm done and am getting back on track. I lost 50lbs the "traditional way" in 1999, then stalled for 6 months. I started doing a modified low carb plan and lost 30lbs more just in time for my wedding. I had no problem keeping it off. Of course over here I have gained about 25 back. No biggy. I figured this may be my only chance to see and experience this wonderful place. I've been back on program since August and am already down 10lbs. I'm not in a hurry, just taking my time. Just wanted to introduce myself.

Hi there and welcome! Sounds like you have had wondeful success in your weight loss journey. I'm sure you will have the rest off before you know it. Low-carbing has been like a Godsend to me. It really agrees with my body chemistry and I feel so much better. Glad you are enjoying Germany...I have never been there but I'm sure it's beautiful. We are glad you joined us here. It's a great place for info and support!

Hi and welcome. What part of Germany are you living in? I have a kid brother living in Aachen and I find that area really beautiful. He lived in Munich for a few years as well as Berlin. I find the area around Aachen much more beautiful than Berlin, but it's a toss up with the Munich area.

Hi and welcome! We're also military stationed here in Germany. We live near K-town. I didn't rack up the pounds here. I gained it in England :) Just want to live it up while your overseas. It's a great once in a life time experience. It looks like our stats are very close so if you ever want someone to chat with I'm here and I totally understand the military way of life and what it is like being so far from home. Good luck and hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks so much for the nice welcomes. I am in Buedingen, Germany. It's a lovely small town located about 20 miles north of Frankfurt.
mthrmayi2, I was in that area last weekend. I had to hit the Bazaar in Ramstein!!! I haven't hit London yet :(. It's the last one on my list. I'm waiting on my husband to come home on midtour to do that. I mainly gained my weight here, but Amsterdam, Krakow, Prague, Budapest, and Vienna are also to blame. The German wine is so good. I'd definitely like to keep in touch! |
