Depression medication-Lexapro
 

Hi,

If I learn anything that can help other people, I try to post a message wherever I can.
A friend of mine was acting very depressed a while ago and the Dr. put him on Paxil. This didn't seem to help him much. He told the Dr. that a person he knew was doing well on Lexapro. I saw him 2 days after he started taking this and he was like a new person! His whole attitude changed for the better!
If you know anyone like this, PLEASE tell them about this. It could possibly change their life.

Right -- I've been taking SSRIs since about 1997 -- I've been on both Prozac and Paxil, and both worked tolerably well. Eventually I got into a horrible depression from which I could not rise above, and the only thing that helped was Lexapro. I can't say enough about how well it has worked for me, but of course everyone is different; what works for one person may not be right for everyone.

That being said, none of the anti-depressants should be used alone. Modalities including exercise and counseling are called for as well.

Lexapro is my godsend too! I was on Prozac for awhile but it never kicked in so the dr. had some free samples of Lexapro & switched me over. I felt a difference in my anxiety within a week! Yes, a week! Doesn't do much for my depressive spells, but at least my worries have dissipated!
