First Timer!
I am a "newbie" here. I am very interested in all of the challenges, and am also looking for an encouraging supportive buddy or buddies. I have been on a very strict low carb diet for 2 months now. In my first month, I lost 9 pounds. This month, I have lost 10 pounds. However, I am a victim of scale abuse. Today, I am a little depressed. I have 2 herniated disks in my back, preventing me from exercising. I have not exercised yesterday or today. That in itself is depressing. I was doing so well, and now, I feel I lost it. I got on the scale today and I gained almost 4 pounds in 2 days. That is so frustrating. I guess I have not drank enough water the last few days either, considering going to the bathroom hurts the back. I guess I need to wait until my back feels better (maybe monday) but for now, I am stuck in a rut.
I started my journey at 307 pounds, and now I am at 288. I have a long way to go. Does anyone have any encouraging words, or pointers to keep me going? It would really appreciate it! Jolynn |
Hi Jolynn,
Welcome to the forum! You have done a magnificent job so far - well done!! I wouldn't worry about an occasional rise in the scales. We all have fluctuations with water. Possibly you had had some bacon or ham the day before that caused a little fluid retention. I can empathize with your back. I have a chronic back prob also. :daze: I just exercise when and how I can, and don't beat myself up on the days when I can do nothing. I'm wondering if you've visited our Triple Digits Club yet? It's a subforum specifically for those who start with 100+ pounds to lose. They are a particularly friendly and supportive bunch there. Here's the link: http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdis...daysprune=&f=49 I hope you're receiving some treatment that will help resolve your back pain. And I hope you feel better soon. :there: :rose:Rosebud:rose: |
