carbo-overload

After being off carbs for awhile I have found that if I eat an overabundance of carbs I go into what I call overload....swelling, headaches, brainfog among the worst symptoms. Does anyone else experience this? Does anyone know why the body reacts this way?

Yes - it's similar to overloading on alcohol. Your body needs a lot of water to store carbs. If you're always eating carbs, it's no big deal, but when you're LCing and depleted of glycogen (stored carbs), then all of the sudden you flood yourself with them, you dehydrate yourself. So basically, like a hangover, it's negative reinforcement that should prevent you from doing it again. ;)
