Induction levels near goal
I'm not complaining.
I've stayed at under 20 carbs a day since I started this in mid-February. The weight loss has slowed, but not stopped. I plan to lose another 15 pounds or so. I know I should be adding 5 grams of carbs per day per week to determine my maintenance level, but I really freak out about adding carbs at all. I'm happy at 20 grams a day. What happens if a person reaches their goal and doesn't up their carb intake? Will I just stop losing weight at a certain point? Will I start to lose muscle? Will I burst into flame? I've been lurking on these boards for months, but I haven't seen this information anywhere. Thanks, Garrick |
You'll keep losing weight until you hit your CCLM/ACE.
(I prefer the newer term -- ACE). ACE stands for Atkins Carbohydrate Equilibrium. It is the "balance point" between weight loss and weight gain. You should progress to pre-maintenance until you reach goal. This will help you determine your ACE, which is the numbers you should stick with, unless you want to lose weight beyond your goal.
