Carb-free cough syrup?

Asking in advance of need, but I would hate to be caught out.

I noticed my bottle of Robitussin-knock off syrup last night. LOTS of sugar. What do people take instead?

Buckley's, if you can find it. It's Canadian, but some US drug stores import it. Sugar free, tastes absolutely disgusting. Rather like Pine-sol mixed with hair dye, if you can imagine that. But no cough syrup works better, sugar free or otherwise.

Look in the diabetic section of Walmart or your pharmacy. They are expencive, but they do have sugar free cold medicines for diabetics.

If there's an Albertson's around, they carry a generic (Albertson's brand) sugar-free cough syrup. It was a few bucks cheaper than the regular stuff. It's sweetened with splenda (I think) and wasn't too bad. Much better than coughing fits.

In general, any pharmacist can direct you to sugar-free stuff specifically made for diabetics. When I started Atkins I searched at every store for all the sugar-free stuff I could find, and the diabetic sections are great.

Sugar-free Robitussin. To me, it tastes better than the stuff with sugar and I wish I had discovered it years ago.
