is too little carbs bad?

hi I have been on this diet almost 2 weeks now and I have been eating well under 20 carbs per day averaging 15 carbs per day with the lowest ammount being around 9 carbs/day. Should I be concerned?

Not really- Dr Atkins and I think the Eadses (Protein Power) talk about the Inuit (Eskimos) who did quite well on an all-meat diet, and some scientists even tried it for a year and were fine.

You have to make sure you're getting your vitamins though- take supplements especially Vitamin C and Potassium. You would even do well to add in some veggies to make up the carbs (up to 20 g /day)- this is healthier and will be better for your digestive system.

I think Atkins said that he didn't see any difference in weight loss between his patients who ate 0 grams of carbs a day and those who ate 20 (and so he set 20 as the starting point for induction).

I wouldn't worry, either. My carbs per day fluctuate that much, too. ;)

I actually find it difficult to get to 20 g. while eating induction foods. If I stick to the limit of 3 cups of veggies & 3 oz. of cheese, I usually end up with somewhere around 15 g.

thanks for letting me know. I was kind of worried. I will try uping my vegie intake (if I can) and see if that helps. And I will definatly be sure to take my supplements! :) thanks
