Anyone have a good barbecue sauce recipe
that emulates the good old tomato-brown sugar kinds?
I really miss the fiery hot barbecue sauces I used to make using the standard Kraft ones as a base and doctoring like crazy. I'm armed with Twin Brown Sugar and a huge bottle of Tabasco Sauce but I need some direction...as well as various Habanero and other varieties of hot pepper sauces. But how do I get something that you can lick off your fingers when the barbecue is done? |
Hi lasert,
There are a heap of ketchup and BBQ sauce recipes in this thread. HTH :rose:Rosebud:rose: |
barbecue...thanks
didn't know I had posted in wrong location (forum) until a day or two later. Then stumbled on this thread.
Now, If I can just sort out all of the Fitday posts enough to figure out how to utilize that resource. In the meantime, I just ordered the carb counter books Karen mentioned elsewhere because I am tired of being misled, and of misleading myself, and none of the ones I have found online have been totally useful. |
I found a wonderful substitute. I don't have it in front of me so I can't quote the ingrediants. Ken's steakhouse marinade in mesquite flavor. This is a spicy mesquite marinade that is thick in consistancy. It's 3gr carbs per serving. Its not sweet at all. I found that if you sprinkle a little splenda in this is tastes and feels just like mesquite bbq sauce.
