sugar in chicken broth?

My can of SWANSON'S chicken broth (which i ate today during a CM) read that it contained 1 gram of sugar and 1 gram carbs. The ingredients said it contained extracts of celery juice and carrot juice, which is probably where the sugar came from. I'm wondering if even 1 gram of sugar coming from veggie extracts will affect my body? Do most canned broths contain veggie extracts or sugar? Which contain plain chicken stock and water? thanks! :wiggle:

hey,
i dont think so. there is a gram or two in everything almost. i eat some things with it on the label while induction and i am still in ketosis. it never effects me. but everyone is different. i would say your okay though.

Don't worry about it. The gram of carb and the gram of sugar is the same gram. It's little enough, especially if used in a recipe.

I doubt that 1g is going to hurt you. there are broths that read 0 carbs. I always get that one. THat doesnt mean it doesnt have any though. I believe if there is less then 1 carb per serving, the company doesnt have to lable it as such however if you have more then one serving it adds up. (HEavy cream for example)
