Intro

Been low carbing for about a month, started induction on Atkins last week.

Got a lot of weight to lose, but I'm on my way there. Mainly looking for ideas on snacks? Just a little something to get me through that I can buy from the local grocery store - the pork skins are getting old... and the Little Debbie's are looking pretty good right about now...

BTW, can everyone update their profiles? Just browsing around and seeing folks that have been on the diet for months, but they've lost like five pounds according to their profile - I need to see some good stats if I am going to stick this out.

Have you tried deviled eggs, celery sticks with cream cheese, sugar-free jello, boiled eggs, chicken wings?

No, but I certainly will. One of my problems is that I despise so many of the foods I can have. I have tried to like salad - I tried some recently and still can't stomach it, as well as mayonnaise. Hate deviled eggs and celery. I did buy some sugar free jello, but does the aspartame hurt ketosis?

The boiled eggs sound like a winner. So does the chicken wings, might have to keep some cooked up hanging around.

Wish I could find some more pig skins type snacks - someone was mentioning cracklins to me, can we have those? I remember having some when I was little, and they weren't too bad.

yes you can have the cracklings..........I hate salad too but try this add mayonaise to it what a difference that makes!! The sugar-free jello does not affect me but does affect some people

PS you need to check out around this forum cause there's some good recipes for snaks and ideas for foods eating the same thing gets boring so make it exciting and change things. I even add green beans to my eggs or tomato and little bit of onion is good with scrambled eggs. Convenient food is what made us like we are it's too darn easy to snak on high carb foods so we the LCers have to get alittle bit more creative but have it ready and waiting if we need it...I do the little itty bitty slim jims too at times..I wouldn't suggest alot of those they do have nitrates and carbs oh yeah I forgot a good snak I do I take really thin slices of beef brown the meat and put cheese in the middle and roll them up like miny tacos very good snak for me!!
