Tae bo anyone??

Has anyone ever done tae bo, and If so have you seen any results either weight loss or shaping/muscle build?

Im currently doing tae bo and the only concern I had was my legs are large to begin with and im afraid doing tae bo 5 times a week will only add to the builk..

It won't put any significant amount of muscle on your legs unless your using a high amount of weight. Very unlikely since Tae Bo is mostly done without weight. Tae bo is aerobic so basically its just repetition which will slim and tone your muscles. Lifting weights adds to muscle but an aerobic workout will generaly add a negligible amount of muscle which will only be of benefit to you as the more lean mass you have the more calories you need to burn throughout the day to maintain. So keep on doing your workouts and remember when your doing your kicks make sure you don't over extend your knees and slightly bend your supporting leg for better balance. Never lock them out it just doesn't add to the workout.

Why Tae Bo ???

Hi
I was just wondering why tae bo ?? Ever thought about doing a martial art ?? I dont know much tae bo about it and was just wondering. I do 2 kind of karate and if your going to be kicking and punching anyway.I workout 3 days a week and my instructor tailors everything so it suits my body style. Im sure tae bo is good but in this day and age a little self defense comes in handy

Yes, I like Tae Bo! I hadn't done it for quite a few years until I recentlydusted them off again. As a matter of fact I'm sitting here right now cooling off after a serious bout with Billy. LOL!

I like TB because I can do it at home according to my schedule . I've often thought of taking some self defense but then you have to arrange for kids to be watched etc. A martial art would be really fun.

I do tae bo because I had a friend who was doing it and she told me it was fun, and somehow I got tempted and bought the billy blanks library dvd which consists of the instructional, basic, advanced and the 8 minute workout. I switch between basic and 8 minute every other day, and eventually want to get up to advanced but I still have to pause the dvd at least 3 times durring the workout to catch my breath!
but its easy and convient and fun for me.... I can do it whenever I want.. so thats the main reason..

PLUS, Martial Arts are very expensive. At least the classes I looked into around here are.

Tae Bo is a good way to get in shape at home.I taught good 'ol fashioned kickboxing at my gym a couple of years ago (with punching bags, gloves etc), and when I tried Tae Bo it was too easy, so I had to put on hand weights. Actually hitting or kicking something is a much better workout, but hard to do at home (husband got tired of holding pillows for me to hit, so I finally got a water-weighted portable training bag for the patio...).

I have been doing tae bo on and off for the past month. Honestly i can see a difference in my arms and my abs. As for my legs i have noticed a little bit of toning.

I think it's a great way to get in shape and tone without having to lift weights.

Being out of shape Tae Bo wasn't for me! It made my sick to my stomach and felt killer. Way too much for me to break off at the beginning.

ive been doing it for a week now, and im noticing some muscle in my upper arms.. hehe.. now if I could only turn some of that flab into muscle..
I have to stop the dvd once or twice durring my workout to catch my breath..
when I do the 8 minute workout I still ahve to stop the dvd once everythings so FAST and high paced! and I usually break out a good sweat from the 8 minute workout v.s. the 35 minute basic.

im tempted to TRY the advanced this week... its the only one left on my dvd library that I havnt tried yet... I dont think im ready. but im tempted..

Though I know im out of shape.. tae bo is fun for me.. so I do it..
