Have I blown induction - or just postponed weight loss?

I am on day 7 on induction and was doing really well.... until last night that is. I had 4 vodka and cokes (caffeine free diet coke).

I weighed myself this morning and appear to have put on 2lbs! I feel so bad cos I was doing so well.

I'm worried in case I have to go back to square one and go through withdrawal stage again.

Anyone had a similiar situation?

Thanks :(

Alcohol always does this to me too! :(

The weight gain is mostly water but it'll take about 3 days to go away.

Just continue induction and try to leave off the voddy in future ;)

The problem is thatthe body will burn alcohol before it burns fat so while it's dealing with the booze the diet is on hold.

Good luck,

Robert

Don't worry

I drank wine..and not very dry wine while in induction and the weight went like this
7-31 186.1 2 glasses of wine
8-2 187
8-3 187.4
8-4 186.8
8-6 184.4
so total for induction was 9 pounds..may have been more without the wine but live and learn right...

so keep plugging and if you are like me the up on the scale has been enough for me to avoid alcohol except for the very rare occasion and i keep in mind my weight will go up a couple pounds and take about 5 days to a week to get back below where I was....

Thanks Robert and Becca for sharing your experiences.

I can understand the alcohol v fat burning thing.

The only problem, Robert, is I do enjoy my weekend voddy ;) What's a girl to do?

I suppose it's a case of either lay off it or accept a slower weight loss - is that the deal?

hi

I find that we are all individuals...and are not perfect....we each have our own flaws..or something that we really enjoy....I think one of the main things that has halped me on the way of eating plan is that I plan to have it be for lifetime...I try not to beat myself up when I'm not perfect....when following the atkins plan...

the main thing is getting everything undercontrol...Induction without many carbs helps you break the carb cravings....
