Brazilian restaurants -- Atkins heaven!

I recently had a fabulous dining experience at Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian restaurant in Chicago. I had not told my dining companions that I was on Atkins figuring that I have had luck finding something low-carb at any restaurant. I took a chance and let them pick the restaurant....and it was an Atkins bonanza.

If you haven't been to a Brazilian restaurant, the meal starts with a trip to a HUGE salad bar. It featured sliced meats, cheese, a huge variety of vegetables, olives, etc. Then when your salad course is done they bring you a clean plate and then they bring a series of scrumptious non-breaded, non-sauced grilled/roasted meats to your table -- lamb, pork, beef, sausage, chicken, etc. You eat your fill of any type of meats. If you are on Atkins, ignore the fried bananas and bread set on the table as side dishes -- which was not difficult because of all the other delicious items available to me.

Delicious and romantic!

Sounds wonderful! It's been years since I've been to a Brazilian restaurant. Besides all the meat, I remember the delicious, garlicky, buttery, sliced potatoes (my pre-LC days). Good luck on your LC journey!
