are pickled gherkins allowed on induction?

Hi!

I was wondering if pickled gherkins (I call them pickels, I donīt know what the correct english word for them is  ) are ok on induction.

The reason I ask is because I canīt find nutrition info on the glass they are in and most producers add sugar to the water they are in. Even in health stores they have pickeles with sugar, itīs just that those "bio" labeld brands use brown sugar or cane sugar - but still sugar...

any ideas?

Can you find a Kosher, salt brined pickle anywhere? Most true Kosher pickles don't contain sugar or vinegar and are naturally fermented.

Pickles are fine as long as they don't contain sugar.

thanks Karen,

that was it for me then! Iīve been through various stores, supermarkets - out here almost EVERYTHING contains sugar. It seems to be a North American privilage to be able to buy products with no sugar... :(

We donīt even have mayonaise here without sugar....

Cucumbers are getting cheaper in the shops now and the time for pickling will be coming soon. Every Belarusian housewife will be making about 10 large jars of pickled cucumbers soon. Why don't you pickle your own? Then you can control whjat goes into them?
