Worried now
Hi Karen,
After reading about these 'hidden Carbs' im quite concerned that i may be eating to many. Do you know if these guidelines apply in Britain as I have been surprised at how low some cheeses are, although they do list the content( 0.2 per 100g etc). I'd be grateful for this information. Thanx |

have a look in the UK forum here, where Little Ann has a "sticky" about carb counts in the UK. Uk labelling laws mean that the fibre is already subtracted on labels. so whatever you buy from Tesco etc is pretty accurate as labeled. So if you use fitday, do subtract the fibre. Any packaged foods you can enter as a custom food to make life easier. ( for this read sticky : fitday how To's in the newbies questions section.) hope this helps. |
Hidden Carbs
Hi Scottie
Plum has pointed you in the right direction - thanks for the plug Plum. In general there are not hidden carbs in UK foods as the labelling is pretty strict. Just don't think about subtracting the fibre from the carb content. I tend to keep my food relatively plain and simple, meat, fish, poultry and veggies and with these there are not many carbs. Every success. |
