:q: Glycemic Index/Glycemic Load

Hi all,

I have been following Montignac/Somersizing (pretty the same) for the last 2 years, but have definitely been OFF the tracks for several months now, leading to weight gain (about 20lbs).
I think it's time now for me to lose these extra pounds before it's too late. :(

Yesterday, while browsing on this forum, I found a link to mendosa page. There I read an article about Glycemic Load.
Now I'm confused....

I think I'm going to do Montignac plan but following the GL and not the GI? Is this right? Is there anyone here who mixed this GL concept with Montignac?

Also do you know some place where can I find a GL list? Or do I have to count by myself? If so, I'm not sure how?

Hello Juju,

You don’t have to count the GL by yourself. On the Mendosa Web site there is a table with both GI and GL. It’s the most exhaustive list I know.

In my experience, when a food has low GI, it will have a low GL. But sometimes it can have high GI and low GL which is confusing. :daze:
As a rule of thumb, if a food have low GL and moderate GI I eat it in moderation! I avoided all high GI food while loosing weight even in small quantities.

I am not the resident expert on this subject, I hope I did not mislead you in anyway.

Good luck in loosing those extra pounds!

Hey JuJu

Montignac mixed with GL - that would be New Glucose Revolution - what I'm following
