Hi- I'm a new-be

Hello Everyone :spin:

I am new to the Atkins Diet Team. I have a friend who has lost weight and looks great and she suggested that I give this dit a try. I am a 32 year old single mom with 3 daughters (ages 16, 14, and 11). I am very unhappy with my current weight (183). I would like to loose 33 lbs before 07/24/03. I have a very important function to attend in South Miami Florida, and the dress I purchased doesnt fit. (Yet :p )

I am very pleased to have read all of the success stories, and pray I am able to one day share my own.

Thanks again.

Especially for all of the tips.

Bye

Hi Pepp32:

Start out with the belief that it will be your Way of Life and not a diet... Diet is a temporary thing.

I have personally lost 24 pounds in 16 weeks...so it is very possible for you to lose at least 25-30 pounds in that amount of time but if you read posts around this forum when you go off low carbing you immediately gain back at least the water weight of 6-7 pounds so be forewarned. Most of us on this Forum have adopted this way of eating (WOE) as our way of life (WOL). If you go back to eating carbage again you will be right back where you started IMHO.

Good luck to you and hope you do well

Hi and welcome to you.

I have found this way of eating to be the best thing I have ever tried. I can't believe I can eat whenever I am hungry and no more guilt associated with it! But regarding have a set plan of how much you want to lose and by when???? Not fair of a safe, healthy eating plan.

This really is not a fast weightloss diet this is a healthy way to eat everyday whenever you are hungry and to be satisfied while SLOWLY get to your goal weight.

The slowly teaches you to eat right and patience so this time you keep it off. You will not lose weight everyday. Your body will get into natural stalls where it needs to catch up with the weight it has lost. It is good to take measurements now because usually in a stall (4 weeks of no weightloss) you usually are still losing inches.

Realistic weightloss expectations are 10% of your goal of weight to lose is usually lost during induction then 5% of the remaining weight to lose approx every month.
