Ate Cake

My boss's birthday and a co-worker's birthday were both yesterday. They, of course, had this fabulous cake, of which I had to have a piece. Kind of beat myself up about it as I haven't cheated since I started this WOE (almost 7 weeks). Tried to overcome and still ate right for dinner. Woke up this morning and believe I saw a 1/2 pound loss. It helped that I walked for 30 minutes last night too. Perhaps, to keep me in ketosis. Who knows. It just shows, that one bad cheat cannot and will not interfere so long as you stay committed. Sometimes you have to cheat to remain sane. Though, really, it just made me feel more guilty. Don't plan on cheating again for a while.

I've done that

Between April 7th and April 11th there are 3 BDs in my household. I've had cake ( very small slices ) and they were harmless. I have also had a harmless order of Taco Bells Nachos Belle Grande back in February...harmless. But, think about it. Atleast for me, in my pre-LC past, I could eat a ton of carbs just at a sitting, without even thinking about it. When I eat bad carbs now, I think about it. I plan all of my meals around carbs. Therefore I can't screw it up and it not even phase my weight. Hmmmm, :D I think that I will have Nachos Belle Grande next month. I love this forum and its members.

I think the important thing is to keep it all in perspective. One of the points Dr.Atkins made in his book was how pre WWII diets were similar to his (meat, butter, cream, etc.) but we all know our forefathers/mothers had CAKE from time to time! And how many of them suffered diabetes, heart problems and our other current health problems? Treats should be just that - treats, not everyday menu items.
