fallen off the wagon-now what?

In the last week I've fallen off the SPII wagon especially with all those Christmas cookies. Now what? I am on the healed program- 30 grams of carbs per meal. Do I go to a lower carb plan or just stick with what I was doing and quit cheating? What do you other SPII do if this happens to you? I still have some weight to lose. Thanks for your answers.

I fall off the wagon so often I'm perminantely bruised from head to toe!! I just go back to where I was originally before the fall and give it a few days for things to even back out. Being on the healed program, I'm sure your body can handle a few indiscressions.

I have not been 100% all the time but I would just go back on what you were on. But first I would get all this stuff out of my house. My husband doesn't bring home anything from work. And I give away anything that people send or bring us. I cannot handle having that in the house. I did make a pumpkin pie that I felt was good. I made it with Stevia and improvised on some of the other ingredients to make it most complient. I have also had a little honey when feeling deprived. If you are going to feel deprived make some things that are closer to your eating plan that will help you get through it. This inapropriate food just makes us want to eat more of it. It is addicting.

I made a wonderful Brown Rice Pudding with Soy Milk and honey and stevia that satisfied my sweet tooth.

Good luck, this is a tough time of year. I found that I feel so much better now I do not want to risk feeling lousy so that keeps me on track.

Do not beat yourself up. One thing I learned from the Zone is that if you mess up just start over do not focus on the mistake just what you can do about the present and the future.

Thanks for the support. I am now literally clawing my back up on the wagon since Christmas. Chocolate covered peanuts in the stockings are just too much of a temptation. I do vow to go back to eating right, especially since I've felt so yucky since falling off the wagon. Does anyone know how long it takes to mess up one's metabolism again?

Do not beat yourself up!

My advice is do not think about it. It is in the past and the past is...well passed. Just eat right and do the very best that you can. We as women tend to over analyze things, especially when it comes to beating ourselves up.

I am really lucky. I do not have kids at home. The baked things my husband got from work stayed for the most part at work. We took a lot of that stuff to family dinners and parties so I did not have it in the house for more than 1 day or overnight.

I am glad to say I did not have a cookie, cake, pie or candy during this holiday time. When eating at other people's house I did not eat 100% but made the best choices I could under the circumstances. Last night I had pasta for the first time in months and almost instantly got a headache. So when I came home at 10pm I ate a small fairly balanced meal and went to bed. I did not wake up feeling horrible like I was afraid I was going to.

This is a life long journey and there are gonig to be plenty of time that you will have to make choices.

Take care. I am glad you are back on track. Keep it up and it will get easier. I would get all of that stuff out of the house though. It is too tempting. I could not have stayed away from it if it were in the house. :wiggle:
