Swiss Miss hot chocolate

I just want to make sure that I bought the correct hot chocolate. I bought the No Sugar added kind. It showed 10g carbs (1g fiber and 7g "sugar"). It is made with sucralose. Is the 7g of sugar from this? And you only count 2g net effective carbs?

Thats a lot of carbs IMO. Get the Keto Hot Coco, it has only 2 effective carbs and is yummy. :yum:

I am not very good with the food labels. I had read on a previous post that this hot chocolate only has 2 net carbs. I am just trying to understand what and where the 7g of sugar are coming from-if it is from the sucralose. Since I have been doing Atkins I have tried to keep my food choices pretty simple with the allowable foods. I have used the bars and shakes all along without problems. I understand that this is just one of those "YMMV" things. But I was wondering if anyone else knows the info and drinks this on occasions without problems? Thanks for the info on the Keto hot chocolate:)

No, you can't deduct the grams of sugar. Without the label in front of me, I can't tell you where the sugar is from, but it could be from lactose. There is a lower net carb Swiss Miss out there called "Diet with Calcium".

Thanks Jean! I bet I bought the wrong kind. It was the only one on the shelf that looked "diet". It is made with sucralose, but I believe it said on the box (I don't have it with me) something about containing milk (dry milk?). Maybe my kids will enjoy it!

You can only deduct sugar alcohols, glycerin and fiber. I think that is all.

The 7g is probably from corn starches, which are what "instant" hot cocoas use as a powder agent.

Use Keto Hot Coca, or there's another Low Carb brand called SipperSweet that is pretty good (3g net carbs).

You can get both at netrition.

"Diet Swiss Miss" is 4g carbs, 1g fiber... 2g sugars from the milk in it. I get the one with added calcium =)
