HELP! I'm scared of tomorrow!

I am going to the hospital tomorrow for a myelogram. They said not to eat beforehand and that the hospital would feed me breakfast and lunch. I can just see now that little bowl of cereal and milk, the orange juice and jello made with sugar. Not to mention the turkey and gravy, etc. for lunch.

What do I do? HELP!! :help:

Hi, now if it were me, I would make a point to tell them I was on a low carb diet and allergic to to high carb foods, and want bacon or ham and eggs for breakfast. Decaff if you drink coffee, or just plain water. For lunch ask for just the meat and a diet soda. Any way that is what I would do.

Brown Bag

Take beef jerky, celery, cheese if you eat it. Balanced meals are not as important as staying LC.

There's plenty of food that will safely ride in your purse and get your through the day.

My husband was just in the hospital for 4 days in which I stayed with him. I took some Atkins shakes and just got ice for them and also ate salads and other "allowed" food. It may have not been exactly what it should have been but I didn't cheat and I lost weight. You only have 2 meals to worry about so you should be fine. Good luck with your test by the way!

Thanks, I think I'll bring along some deviled eggs. And some diet rite in bottles. I might be able to think of a few more things, too. Bacon for sure! I have a great little tote bag I can bring with me.
Thanks everybody! I feel a little better already :)

most hospitals nowadays bring a choice menu and you tick what you want for your meal, they are also used to catering for a range of special diets, so tell them you dont eat high carb foods and would req an alternative.

You can eat salads too, if sandwiches--delete the bread and eat the cheese, ham, etc. Improvise!!!Aleka

The hospital should have a dietician. In our small town (28000 people) we even have one.
