night time eating ...does it make a difference ?

In my case yes 100% makes a difference, the only exception is if I was IFing all day and ate at night. Otherwise I stay away from night time eating.

I seem most likely to overeat in the evening/nights. I've been that way as long as I can remember. Once I start it seems like there is no off switch :(. So I avoid eating at night, but I think it's probably individual.

It doesn't make a difference for me. I can't sleep on an empty stomach and I don't do well being hungry at any time of the day.
I tossed out all of the rules about when to eat and actually did better. I follow my natural hunger patterns. I'm rarely hungry when I first wake up and rarely eat breakfast. I don't eat just because the clock says it's time for a certain meal.
Yesterday I ate around 11 AM and didn't eat again until almost 11 PM.
The exception to eating only when I'm hungry is that I always make sure I eat at least one decent sized meal a day, even if I'm not hungry.
If you're eating late due to real hunger, you'll likely be fine. If you're eating late for reasons that aren't related to hunger, you'll likely have issues with it.
