The GO-DIET ????

This Go-Diet sounds very interesting. Doesn't seem to be quiet as strick as the Atkins? Has anyone done this diet? If so, what are your comments or complaints? How about your success with it?

Would love to hear some feed back on this Go-Diet.

Thank you!

GOOD EVENING!!!

I just got the book, but what I've read so far, it's a keeper! :)
The actual plan has a very good variety. I plan to start my three day introduction tomorrow...
I'll give you a report when I know more

More Details Wanted

Hi Gap:

You mentioned that you were starting on the program! I started off doing Calvin Ezrin's program in Aug. 2000 and gradually moved on to Atkin's in Feb/March 2001. I really like my yogurt, and have been reading up on the Go Diet. You mentioned that the book is a keeper - any other news since you started the program?!?

How is it going? How are you feeling? Is it a successful program for you?!?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Hey Georgia

So far so good..What I like best is having up to 50 carbs a day.
I haven't tried the kefir yet, but I'm satisfied with drinking buttermilk once a day. I love yogurt too and if you miss it, try this.
check out everything at www.go-diet.com and see for yourself.
I bet you'll try it...

Later,

Go Diet Book

Hi:

Thanks for the reply! Where did you find the book? They want C$36 for it, or US$20 + s&h + currency exchange! I am tempted though, unless I can find it cheaper. I have looked at Chapters (in Canada), and Amazon & Barnes & Noble (U.S.A.). Any other suggestions?

How much yogurt are you allowed to have in a day on the Go Diet? I printed out the information from the site and I think that I will start it on Monday - need to do some grocery shopping tomorrow!

How much buttermilk are you allowed? How does it taste to drink?!? I have used it in cooking before but never drank it!

HEY EVERYONE...THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU A LITTLE INSIGHT ON THIS PLAN..

THE FIRST THREE DAYS

EAT AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE..within the 12-15 gram NET carbohydrate per meal and 50 gram NET carbohydrate per day limit of the foods on the table
DON'T EAT ANYTHING THAT IS NOT ON THIS TABLE...NOT EVEN A TASTE~~~

Broil, bake, grill, boil, pan-fry..If pan frying, cook all foods in olive or canola oil. Use oil and vinegar or unsweetened, full fat salad dressings. DRINK..diet pop, coffee, tea, water, plain or artificially sweetened kefir, or buttermilk. NO other milk of any type is allowed. NO alcohol ofr these first three days...

Eat three meals a day and snack whenever you feel like it..DON'T SKIP ANY MEALS...Use cheese cubes, string cheese, tuna, chicken, drumsticks or wings..

Because you're just starting, and this is a transition phase diet, take one multivitamin and mineral supplement a day..Also, don't count calories.

GEORGIA ,

Check www.half.com and see if they have any in stock. Mine was sent to me by someone on the Atkinsfriends board..She didn't want it anymore since she was following Atkins full blast.
I'll be on the lookout...let me know if you find one.

Were you able to find a copy of the GO-DIET?

Georgina Sun, Jan-27-02 08:53

HI:

No I didn't find one! I tried E-Bay and Yahoo auctions, but nothing. I cannot buy from half.com because I live in Canada - you have to be in the USA to buy from them. I found a copy at Chapters (a Canadian bookstore) but they want C$36 for it.

What I have done instead is taken what information you gave me last week and continued to glean information off of the website. I am trying it with just that information.

I lost 7lbs, but I am up 2lbs today because I had some noodles last night and a couple of pieces of fudge that my stepdaughter made (BAD!!!!!). I like eating this way, because for me yogurt is almost as good as any other COMFORT food that I can think of!

I am still trying to keep my carbs down to about 20g or less per day! I may not be doing the GO diet properly, but it is extra food that I would not eat on ATKINS. Call it what you want - it works for me.

The one thing that I really want to do is get below 259lbs because that seems to be where I stick, or have a bad day and gain a few pounds back!

Hope all is going well with you!

Hey Georgina

Sorry you can't buy from half.com I can put some more info on the board if you want me too..it's really not a bother..what I put above is the induction portion and the next part is how to add different things. I don't have time right now, but I will be glad to do it for you.
I agree about the yogurt..I'm a big fax myself..I went to the Middle Eastern store today and got some yogurt cheese. It comes in a container like sour cream..

Check some used book stores both on line and where you live..
I bet you can find one at one or the other.

Hi:

I will continue to find the book. In the meantime any info that you think will help me out would be great! Only if you have the time though!

I am starting over again today! My husband has been quite sick for the past 2 weeks and has been in and out of the hospital and doctor's appointments, and I have gotten sloppy with my eating. I had lost 10.5lbs doing Atkin's induction the beginning of Jan. and have gained back 7lbs of it. Back to the drawing board again today.

Doesn't help that I have a 16 year old stepdaughter who loves to bake - and her favourites are fudge and chocolate chip cookies!

Hope that you are continuing to do well!

Thanks for the info!

Hello Gapgirl and others,

For some reason, this diet really stuck to me, I don't know why. I'm on Atkins right now (induction) and love it but at the same time it bothers me that Atkins limits things like veggies and cheese the first few weeks and then only allows a step-up process of adding foods based on how many carbs you can have. It's great for losing the weight I want to lose but I'm not sure how it will work as a WOL. So I was looking at other LC plans for the future (even though I'm far from my goal weight!). The info here was great!
