Donahue Show this Wednesday

This Wednesday evening, Nov. 13, the Donahue Show on MSNBC will be on low fat vs. low carb diets. The taping has been done and the three folks representing actual LC'ers say they feel it will be a balanced presentation.

I plan to tune it. Hope to find some lively disucssion afterwards!

I just received this newsletter about it, from LowCarbEating.com:
Quote:
*********URGENT*************

I apologize for sending a second newsletter this month, and so close to the other one, too! But I had to share this news with you:

Kim Debus (our moderator "Emelia"), Cassandra Thor (a member who goes under the screen name of "Luv67Fire") and myself "LCandrea" will be featured on the DONAHUE show on Wednesday, November 13th at 8PM eastern and again at 11PM eastern.

The show is titled "Which Diets are Dangerous" and (once again) pits Dean Ornish's low fat vegetarian diet against the Atkins diet.

However, I think that the show is pretty balanced, and the Dr. from the Atkins Center did a great job in mentioning the studies from prestigious universities supporting the low carb way of eating.

The three of us got to tell an extremely shortened version of our stories, and make a few comments.

I hope that if you get to see it, you feel we did low carb proud!!!

Again, I apologize for the second newsletter.
I thought that you might want to know and have a chance to make plans to either watch or tape the show.

Thanks for all your support!

Victoria2u Thu, Nov-14-02 02:11

the girls did a good job!!

In between the commercials -that was a good show!!

I think "The LC girls" were good.
They clearly told the world we eat lots of veggies, healthy protein choices-not just BACON AND EGGS .
One of them started to talk about sugar addictions/Insulin Resistance but ran out of time.

I'm going to send Donahue a note thanking him for the Program.

We were well represented... Good job girls!

Where you able to watch?
Any comments?

I missed the first 20 minutes of the show, which apparently is when most of the pro-low-carb information was given. The rest seemed pretty unbalanced. It was shameful that Donohue had the mother and doctor of the teenager who died. It was a slander, because the death cannot be tied to a low-carb diet.

I also felt that the doctor representing Atkins backed away from his position as the show went on. It was disappointing.

I'm glad to hear the women on our side did a good job. Sorry I missed them.

Let's face it: TV talk shows are a rotten place for a serious discussion of anything. But this is what Americans take for serious discussion these days. It's a pity.

Shoot..I missed it. :(
Maybe they will re-run it sometime.
