carbs on vitamin labels

Where can I find a list of the stuff they put in the small print on labels? After 3 days on Atkins it occurred to me that I could be in danger of not getting enough calcium (I'm in my 50s and so far OK for bones, largely because of the weight I'm carrying, but I expect to lose that advantage). I went looking for a supplement and only found one which had no obvious carbs, but it does have "microcrystalline cellulose" and "methyl cellulose." I know cellulose is of plant origin, but does it have carbohydrates?

On the same shopping trip I bought a multivitamin, scanning the small print (and it was minute) as well as I could (I wear bifocals and store lighting is not very bright). Only after I opened it and looked again did I find, buried in there, "cellullose," "Corn Starch," and "sucrose." I'm really annoyed about that; who needs sweeteners in tablets that are going to be swallowed whole?

I'm on the induction diet and my earlier headache has gone, though I still feel disoriented (as though I might wobble--but I don't--when I go out), but I expect that to go, too, because otherwise I'm feeling fine. In fact today I really feel great. But please advise on using the multivitamins and also on the cellulose in the calcium tabs.

Thank you.

Cellulose is plant fiber. It's not anything that counts. Although it's better to not have things like Dextrose and any kind of starch, the amount of dextrose ( a filler or "bulking agent" also used in artificial sweetener powders) isn't going to cause a problem, IMHO. The medications to watch are anything in a syrup form or cough drops, things in a sugary base. Luckily, most companies make sugarfree alternatives now.

Thank you. That's a relief.
