Down 2 more pounds & a question for ya'll

Woke up this morning and weighed myself. I lost 3 pounds the first couple of days then it stopped now on day 7 into Induction the scale showed me down 2 more pounds. That's 5 pounds in 7 days. :yay:

Question though: Why if I weighed myself yesterday morning it wasn't showing why did it wait till this morning to pop up?

Thanks for help,

Lily

Hi Lily.

You're right - fat loss is a long, slow process, so where do these two pound overnight losses come from? The main reason is simply the difference, day to day, in what you eat and drink. You'll always have slightly different amounts of water and "intestinal matter" making its rounds. It can make quite a difference in the scale, especially once you take caffeine, alcohol, and salt into account - these can affect the amount of water your body is hanging onto.

Now, be prepared, because it can make the scale go up a bit, too - for example, at PMS time, if you've eaten a fair amount of salt, or a lot of fiber. The ups are normal, too. Don't let them worry you.

Hope that helps.

Also, once you get past Induction and start adding carbs, you can see water weight for a few days. Don't panic.

Hey--one thing that hasn't been mentioned is the need to do measurements. I have found that when I am not losing weight--I am usually losing inches. Inches lost are just as important as weight loss because if you are exercising you can be losing fat but building muscle which weighs more than fat. So make sure you do your measurements too. Alice

ps--Weigh at the same time each time you do so=more accuracy.
