Does rinsing salty foods help get rid of the salt?

Somewhat, yeah.

I was always advised to rinse canned beans and veggies to remove the extra sodium. Of course some of it is gonna soak in, but rinsing should help.

Warm water would remove more than cold water. If it's something like corned beef or deli meat, most of the salt is in the meat, not on the surface. I have tried rinsing off the tinned turkey and tuna but it doesn't seem to do much good.
