Any food suggestions that are higher in carbs but lower in calories?

I need food suggestions that are higher in carbs but lower in calories? I am trying the your suggestions to count calories in addition to counting carbs but am having trouble getting 20 carbs and staying under 1,500 calories.

I am one of those 39-year-old women that has followed Atkins for a year now and only lost 15 pounds. But I did go from a size 18 to a 16 and my incredibly high cholesterol levels have normalized - Yeah! Gotta love Atkins.

I exercise 7 days a week, take my vitamins, drink tons of water, never ever cheat, and basically feel great. I am ready to drop the pounds and all the advice I have gotten from this chat site is to count calories and stop eating dairy and cut out all frakenfoods (bars & candies). So I have started a fitday journal and increased my exercise.

If you have any suggestions of how I can up my carbs and sty under 1,500 calories it would really help. You can see my Fitday journal at thei link.

strictgirl:

Have you added berries back to your diet?
They are relatively low in fiber, slightly higher in carbs, mostly low in calories, and very tasty.

Consider the OWL Carb Ladder when trying to find things to up your carb count with.

Cutting out frankenfoods would be an excellent idea. If you are so keen to up the carbs why not include a slice or two of rye crispbread in your plan.

I presume you are already eating tons of salad and veggies? Mmm I've just had a look at your fitday...a bit of lettuce each day is really not enough you know. Increase your selection of salad items and experiment with some different veggies.

Berries and cottage cheese. That's what I eat for breakfast every morning.

Keeping your calories above your basal rate of 1658 is probably wise. I shoot for 100 calories over mine, and try to keep it within 200 calories.
