A Mental Refresher

After completely abandoning this WOL, I am finding getting back into it very difficult. I was thinking that re-reading my Atkins book might be a good idea. Then I thought, why re-read something I've already read when I can maybe get another perspective.

So my question is...to give my determination a little jump start which of all the books would be good to read next and why?

Protein Power (not the LifePlan): It paints a very clear pictur of the science behind low-carbing and it does it in simple terms we (none scientists) can grasp. It explains the vicious cycle of insulin-glycogen and how low-carbing can solve and prevent many health problems, not just weight-loss.

Of course, I recommend The Schwarzbein Principle by Diane Schwarzbein. It's a pretty much holistic approach and a very easy, understandable read. You might also check out the Schwarzbein Principle thread. We love it!

Don't forget to reread your Atkins book. It's full of little tidbits of information that you may have missed before and motivational as well.

I second the recommends on Protein Power and Schwarzbein.

Even though I've been low-carbing for almost three years, I still go back and re-read PP as well as Atkins.

You'll have a different perspective now after leaving and coming back. Things that you missed the first time 'round may become very clear as you'll be reading with a wiser mind.

So, read the book! ;)

Sucess is a page away!

I've read them all...this time I went for "The secret to Low Carb Sucess! How to get the most out of your low carbohydrate diet" by Laura Richard. She compares all the LC diets. If you know the basics this is a great book.

If you want to be intellectually convinced of the correctness of LC then read Protein Power.

If you want to be sure that it doesn't particularly matter which LC plan you follow then read Laura Richard.

If you want to find the best LC resource work there is. It is all around you on this site. Up in the orange bars in the Research and media forum and in the specific plan forums.

If you want to save money dig out DR A again.
