avoid carrots or peas. The snow peas are ok. Look for ones with peppers, green beans, water chestnuts, onion. Just stick with the acceptable foods.

Have you thought about making your own from fresh? I like to toss beef or chicken strips with broccoli, mushrooms, snow peas, and whatever else I fancy in wok oil and soy sauce. Comes out pretty good and you can't beat fresh veggies. :)

For convenience though, of course, try to avoid mixes with carrots. If they're there, pick them all out before you cook. I'd avoid anything with any type of sauce as well, because they're loaded with sugar and cornstarch.

Veggies don't have to be salad. I hope you find a good stirfry and enjoy it. ;)

I don't know if you have access to a Costco but they sell a big bag of frozen veggies specifically for stir fry. Great mix, even water chestnuts, snow peas. I steam mine for a bit in the microwave for a bit before adding oil and stir frying and adding some Mrs. Dash (salt and msg free) for seasoning...YUM!! :)

I use the frozen mixed stirfry vegies but the kind I get only has broccoli, onions, water chestnuts, and carrots. I usually add my own peppers...very good! To make it taste more 'asian' I saute my meat (chicken, beef, but usually pork) in sesame oil and then toss in the vegies. My dh who usually hates home made stirfry likes it when I use sesame or peanut oils.

Just check the carb count on the bag. My favorite stir-fry actually has 35 carbs per serving. They must put sugar in to flavor the stir-fry sauce. Very frustrating.
I now have three bags in my freezer that won't get used. So sad.

I buy the following for a quick stir-fry:

- pre chopped chicken, usually in the poultry section
- box of pre-sliced mushrooms, and bag of pre-chopped broccoli, found in the produce section. Sometimes I'll also grab a handful of bean sprouts to toss in there.

Saute the chicken first until almost cooked through, add the veggies, and soy sauce with a dash of either sherry or dry wine. Add other seasons to taste. The longest time is cooking the chicken - about 5 to 6 minutes.
