What to do AFTER a CKD ??

Hi !

I'm in my 4th week of CKD and I'll be doing another 2 weeks (6 weeks total) but I am wondering how to stop with a CKD?
Do you carb-up the last weekend or not?
And after that, can you just start eating carbs again???
Or is there a period of adjusting your carbs and if so.... how do I do that??
Questions, questions, so many questions :)

(After the 6 weeks CKD I want to have a week off or so and then do another 12 weeks of BFL)

Thanks !

Lisette

This is a great question!

This morning on the treadmill I was considering this question as well....

I'm planning on doing a total of 8 weeks, and was think 1 - 2 weeks of relatively light exercise before tackling another session.

But I'd like to hear from Fern and Dan....

What is the typical transition from CKD? Eating and Exercise please....

transition

When I transition from CKD to another phase, I give it 4 weeks.

For example, at the end of August I plan to stop "cutting" and start "bulking". If I jumped straight into bulking, I would store alot more fat since the lage caloric excess would cause my body to store fat in the event it begins to "starve" again (lower calorie intake).

So, for the month of September I will use either the Zone diet, or an Isocaloric diet, with calories adjusted to be just a little over what I need for maintanance/activity. Each week I will increase my calories by 250 or so per day, until the scale registers a 1 lb. gain per week.

Then, in October I go all out on a bulker until the end of December.

In January I do just the opposite. I go back to the Zone and ramp my calories down during the month, until the beginning of February when I should be at 5% below maintanence.

Then the fun begins ...

Did I make any sense? If not, let me know if you are transitioning into a bulker or a maintainance plan.

Hi Dan,

Well, call it maintainance... becaus I'm definitely NOT bulking up :-)
So, do I carb up the last weekend or not?
And if I go back to maintainance, can I go right back to my 40% protein / 40% carbs and 20 % fat??

Thanx again !!
