GTF Chromium?
 

I'm having a hard time finding the biologically active GTF chromium that is recommended. I found the Solgar brand in one e-store, but I have a phobia about giving cc info over the web, and when I called the toll-free #, I was so freaked out by the phone rep. (I think I might have interrupted his nap), that I didn't want to do business with him, either. I've checked the stores in my area--no success there.. Not so concerned about the brand, but I do want to buy the right thing. Any suggestions for me?

Have you looked in GNC? They had it last time I looked.

Hi, I ordered Solars GTF chromium from btnature.com. I have ordered from them before and had no problems with my credit card. Hope you find some at the GNC. I began taking it yesterday.

Before I began dieting, I drank 2 or 3 beers most everyday. It is a good source or chromium (as stated in the CAHHP book) which may be why I never craved sweets when drinking it regularly. I am hoping that the supplement will do that for me now because it seems all I want to eat are sweets now and have to force myself to eat other foods.

Also, although it says on the bottle to take it with meals, it states in the book not to take it with vitamins, food or medications and to try to take it at the same time every day. It also states that the benefits may begin to show within one to two months. However, long before you notice the difference, your body wil already be responding to this often much-needed nutrient.

what is the actual difference between this chroninum and the chronium picolinate that atkins recommends?

"The specific form of chromium tht has been shown to be so effective and that we give our research participants and private patiants is call glucose tolerance factor chromium, or GTF chromium for short.
You may have heard a great deal about other forms of chromium, including chromium picolinate, chromium polynicotinate, and others. We cannot recommend other forms of chromium. Chromium picolinate is still somewhat new, and for a while there was some concern abot the safety of the picolinate portion of the product."

"GTF chromium seems far and away the best choice. In our opinion it is the safe and effective way to take this essential nutrient."

I am trying the Solgar GTF-Chromium for my hypoglycemia, but I can only get it in 20 ug pills, instead of 200 ug. So, I'm starting at 3 pills (60 ug), and am going to up the dose every couple of weeks. I don't want to drive my sugar back down. I found it at a local health food store.

I get Solaray - 200 MG - at Whole Foods. About $5 a bottle of 100.

OK, here's some anecdotal evidence for GTF-chromium helping stabilize blood sugar:

I found my dose of GTF-c sitting on the table this morning, you know, yesterday's dose. :rolleyes: This morning, my blood sugar was the lowest all week by 10 points. Looks like I, for one, shall continue to take my GTF-chromium.

I have been taking GTF Chromium for about two years now. I notice all the benefits that ya'll have already mentioned.

I can easily find Solaray GTF Chromium in 200mcg at my health food store. Some health food stores will order things that the customer asks for. I know mine will.

I paid $9.45 for my last bottle of 200, in 200mcgs.

Chromium gets my two thumbs up. :thup: :thup:
