Need advice, I lied to Hubby!

Hey everyone, I just need advice for a lie I told Hubby.

I've been buying some low carb bread from our local low carb Market that is absolutely delicious. It's not spongy like other low carb breads. When you toast it, it has a crunch to it like Iron kids bread or Wonder bread, and it is white in color with only 2 total carbs per slice, 1 carb minus the fiber. Well yesterday Hubby told me to keep buying this bread because he really liked it. (He sticks with the basics, he usually doesn't eat low carb tortillas etc., He sticks with meat & vegetables). Well he asked how much the bread sold for and I pulled out the receipt and it was $7.00! Yikes! As I was looking at the receipt I was in shock and I told him it was $5.00 and I quickly crumpled up the receipt and threw it in the trash. I never paid attention to the price when I bought it because one of the customers at the market told me it was the best bread she had ever tasted, so of course I had to try it out. Now my question is do I:
A) Keep buying the bread and tell him it's only $5.00.
B) Tell him the manufacturer went out of business so they don't sell it anymore.
C) Put iron kids bread in the low carb wrapper so he will stall as I continue to lose weight.
D) Tell him that due to inflation they had to raise the price of the bread to $7.00.
E) Be honest.

Thanks for your Help!

ROTFL!!!

Be honest! What's the worst that can happen?

Simple answer is - Always Be Honest.

BE HONEST. You don't want him thinking, if she lied about this what else would she lie about.

IMO anyways, I think you should always be honest, to everyone, but especially to your life long partner.

Thanks for your advice. Now, does the answer change if I tell you that he's thin and arrogant? Only kidding. LOL

be honest and please tell us the brand name of the bread!! :)

Is it okay to post the name of the bread? Moderators, if not just pull this post. I know that it is the markets decision to tack on more money because they have to make a profit. The bread is from a Bakery in Dallas. "The Francis Simun Bakery" is on the package but I buy it at a low carb market locally, here in Texas. The ingredients are Organic wheat gluten, filtered water, garbanzo flour, black bean flour, canola oil, golden flax seed, wheat germ, molasses, onion, sea salt. No preservatives so you must freeze it. I thought I might find gold as an ingredient since it is so expensive, but never found it listed. If anyone knows where I can buy this bread cheaper, let me know. In the meantime I've been surfing the net to find it a little cheaper.

Personally IMHO I wouldn't tell him you lied. Just next time you buy it say, "I thought it was only $5 but its $7, are you sure you want me to keep buying it?"

Gotta admit though $7 is a lot for a loaf of bread though. I'd still buy it if it was only me eating it and I kept it in the freezer and only ate it once in awhile. That's what I already do with the Food for Life low carb bread and the ATkins bread. They are both really good but I like the Food for life one better.

Exactly. Honesty works best. :D

One carb per slice bread is worth lying about in my opinion. LOL, that's why I'm single now!

Nancy LC Mon, May-10-04 09:08

What kind of bread is that? I bought some bread that was nearly 8.00 a loaf, was supposed to be really great. I didn't think it was worth it by a mile.

LOL, Vanity3 that's funny. :)

honesty is always best - it would be much worse if he found out later you lied.

Be Honest!!!

Personally, if I wanted to lie about the price of the bread, 5 dollar a loaf is still pretty high. I would have told him it was 3 something or other :D .

But after years of living with me, he knows to take any number I give him with a grain of salt! IF he accepted the 5 dollar price, I don't see why two dollars more will bother him.

Now going as far is putting the bread in a different bag, ok, that may be pushing the limit of a white lie a bit to much. :D
