Carb counter for rare items?
Does anyone know of a carb counter for rare items, such as soya flour, soya protein, wheat gluten, etc? Our health food store carries these items, but they come in bags with no label, other than the percentage of protein. I've been trying to look them up, but can only find counters for normal things like veggies. Can someone help?

I had a couple of the things in my pantry so I'll tell you what it said on the box.
Vital wheat gluten serving size : 4 tsp calories :40 carbs : 3g fiber : 1g Protein: 8g Fearn brand Soya powder (ingredient was just listed as soybean, nothing else) serving size: 1/4 cup total fat: 5 total carb: 7 fiber: 3.5 protein: 10 Hope that helps. Jenn |
Also forgot to add. Most stores have info on bulk items, you just have to ask for it.

Thanks Jen. I did ask, but she didn't know. Maybe somebody else there would...or maybe they'd just have to look it up somewhere.

Good question! I have been wondering myself!

Hmm if they dont know, ask what brand / company they get it from and write the company.

Try looking on a web site that sells those things-careful you may end up buying/ Try netrition.com. They give the nutritional values of all the products.
