weight and inches

Can someone please explain to me how it is possible to lose so many inches and NO weight............just curious. It just seems to me that inches lost would affect my weight.

Bcs. this is a ketogenic diet which basically burns fat, you are not losing muscle, which weighs more and takes up less space, but losing fat, which weighs more and takes up more space than muscle. Therefore, it is likely that you will notice a greater reduction in inches that lbs. That's why it's so importnat to measure yourself!!

The instructors at Curves couldn't understand how I managed to lose nearly 1% fat and 4 inches and after gaining weight.

I am losing inches too vs lbs but in my case its because Im gaining muscles.

Not sure if you are working out but that can be the difference.

I lift light weights about 20 minutes a day(5 days).

I THINK I understand now...............thanks to all !

Yeah i understand too, I am still at the same weight I was 2 weeks ago but the inches are moving. Plus I have been excersizing more. so I keep telling myself not to get stressed because slowly the weight will catch up to the inches!! hehe:)

go to www.mybodycomp.com It lets you enter in your measurements and keep track of them. It will also give you a body fat percentage as well as show what areas you may haev the most problems with. You can compair reports to see where you have been losing inches and how much. It can be very motivating when the scale is being a stinker.

Also if you use fitday, click on the weight loss charts and view it for a few months. Even though you may not of lost in a week or two, your average weight loss may still be good and that can be motivating.
